Clean Matter

Inspired by the “Space-age look“ of the early 60’s and the fall-collection “The moon girl“, initiated by André Courréges in 1964, I created a futuristic design with a big emphasis on the important and ever-expanding concept of sustainability.
The idea was to combine textile and artificial material, both from sustainable resources, and transfer these on an original A-linear dress, with a simple pattern base and the focus on the surface.
For that purpose, I used 100% organic cotton from Mali for the textile portion and collected used plastic bottles to recycle them as the artificial aspect.
Experimenting with folding techniques, I created geometric patterns that were hand stitched on the base silhouette. These shapes not only reflect the form of the dress but also occupy the surface structure of it, forming a relief of folded triangles combined with laser cut technology, which spreads over the entire dress.
